Cressida Bonas’ Cryptic Message: A Reflection of Her Relationship with Prince Harry
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently celebrated their third wedding anniversary and are expecting their second child this summer.
However, with their relationships with the royal family strained and the couple building new friendships in the US, some old friends allegedly feel like they have been left behind.
One person who chose to leave Harry's bubble was Cressida Bonas.
She dated Prince Harry from 2012 to 2014, and it is believed that part of the reason for their split was her struggling to cope with such a spotlight on her life.
However, author Robert Lacey claimed in his book, Battle of Brothers, that there was more to it than that.
He claimed that Cressida thought Harry was damaged and self-obsessed and that he had a neurosis about the media.

She complained to her friends that Harry had a neurosis about the paparazzi, even when there were none around.
More recently, Prince Harry has opened up about his mental health struggles, including having to cope with intense media interest.
In his Apple TV Plus mental health series with Oprah Winfrey, he talked about a challenging period of his life between the ages of 28 and 32.
He described these years as a ”nightmare” during which he suffered severe anxiety and panic attacks.
His age range overlaps when he was dating Cressida, which may explain the ”neurosis”.
He told Oprah, ”Before I even left the house, I was sweating, I was in fight or flight mode.
Panic attacks, severe anxiety 28 to 32 was a nightmare time for me.
I was freaking out every single time I got in a car and every single time I saw a camera.”
Eventually, Harry went to therapy, something he variably credits to his brother Prince William and wife Meghan Markle.
Cressida and Harry remained friends after their split, and she was even a guest at Harry's wedding to Meghan in 2018.
However, it seems that Cressida may have left a cryptic message on her Instagram that one royal expert has related to their split.
She wrote, ”No matter how educated, talented, rich or cool you believe you are, how you treat people ultimately tells it all.”
It is believed that Cressida's message was a reflection of her relationship with Prince Harry.
According to Robert Lacey, Cressida came to feel that Harry was a damaged and self-obsessed young man.
He claimed that Cressida thought Harry had a neurosis about the media and would rant and complain about paparazzi lurking where clearly there were none.
Cressida's message on Instagram seems to suggest that she believed that Harry did not treat people well, despite his education, talent, and wealth.
Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrook, spoke to the Channel 5 documentary, Meghan and Harry, Three Troubled Years, about the similarities between Harry's past breakups and his relationship with Meghan.
