has a special bond with his grandson, and royal fans have been treated to some touching images of the pair over the last three years.

On Louis' second birthday last year, Clarence House shared a black and white snapshot of Charles and the little royal sharing a hug.

Louis also stole the show in photos released to mark Prince Charles' 70th birthday in 2018.

Prince Louis was born at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington on April 23, 2018.

The tot's full name was announced as Prince Louis Arthur Charles just a few days after his birth.

He is fifth in line to the throne behind sister Charlotte.

Louis is a popular name in the royal family, and William and George have it as middle names in honor of Prince Charles' mentor, Lord Louis Mountbatten.

Charles is a nod to little Louis' grandfather, the Prince of Wales, who said he was delighted to have another baby in the family when he was born.

His official title is His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge, but he only has an HRH title because his great-grandmother the Queen stepped in.

She intervened to overwrite a rule put in place by King George V, reports the Express.

Back in 1917, he set out new guidance on which royals were allowed to have titles and who was too far down the line of succession to qualify for one.

However, great-grandchildren weren't included on the list.

This caused a bit of an issue when was born, as despite being our future king he shouldn't have had the title.

The Queen stepped in and said that George would get a title and decided to extend the charge to all of Catherine and William's children.

This means that even though Charlotte and Louis, who are further down the line of succession, are unlikely to ever sit on the throne, they are also a prince and princess.

If the monarch didn't make the change, it's likely that Louis would have been Master Louis Cambridge or Master Louis Windsor instead.

Louis' first day of nursery school was captured by his mother, who took the adorable photo released on his birthday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have always been hands-on parents, and they are keen to give their children as normal an upbringing as possible.

Louis will attend the Willcocks Nursery School in London, where his sister Charlotte also went.

The royal family has always been in the public eye, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are no exception.

They have always been keen to share photographs of their children with the public, and the release of Louis' latest photo is no exception.

The little Prince looks happy and excited to be starting nursery school, and we wish him a very happy third birthday.
