Queen Elizabeth II Tests Positive for Covid-19

Buckingham Palace has announced that Queen Elizabeth II has tested positive for Covid-19.

This news comes as a shock to many, as the Royal Family hasn't been this vulnerable since the abdication of the Queen's uncle, Edward.

The Queen, who turns 96 in April, is likely to be on light duties for the rest of her life, leaving her son Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, to pick up the slack.

Last week, both Prince Charles and Camilla were forced into isolation after they both tested positive for Covid-19.

This made the Queen realize just how fragile the line of succession is, given her and Charles' ages.

According to a tabloid, the Queen has taken action and summoned her beloved grandson, Prince William, and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, to her side in Windsor Castle.

The Queen warned William and Catherine that the Cambridges must prepare to be King and Queen, possibly in the very near future.

William, who had only just returned from a brief tour to the Middle East, dropped everything straight away.

He has become one of the few people the Queen truly trusts and has been an angel during the whole Andrew business, making hard decisions so she as a mother didn't have to.

William has warned the Queen that Andrew can no longer be trusted with anything, from royal roles to family secrets.

He feels Andrew is a desperate man and has betrayed them all, including his own mother.

In return, the Queen has asked William to step up even further over the next few weeks, to ensure he and Catherine are extremely visible to the public.

Catherine, of course, fully agreed with her and is ready once again to take on more than her fair share.

The positive test follows a string of coronavirus cases among the royal family and the Queen's Windsor Castle team.

The Queen met Prince Charles the week he tested positive, while Camilla has also contracted the virus.

Concern across the nation for the monarch will be high given her advanced age and recent health scare when she spent a night in hospital in October and was ordered by doctors to rest.

It comes weeks after she reached her historic platinum jubilee of 70 years on the throne on February 6.

It also comes during a turbulent week for the royal family, which has seen Prince Andrew settle a civil s** case with his accuser, and the Prince of Wales facing the possibility of being interviewed by police over an alleged cash foreigners scandal.

The palace said in a statement, “Buckingham Palace confirms that the Queen has today tested positive for Covid.

Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week.

She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines.”

Despite the positive test, the Queen is understood to be triple vaccinated.

However, the concern for her health remains high given her age and vulnerability to the virus.

As the Royal Family faces this difficult time, the nation is left hoping for a speedy recovery for the Queen and a return to normalcy.
