Prince Charles Celebrates His 70th Birthday with Glittering Party at Royal Palace
The Royal Palace was the venue for a glittering party in honour of Prince Charles' 70th birthday last night.
The event was attended by members of the royal family, friends, and well-wishers.
The Queen led the tributes to her son, describing him as passionate and creative.
She praised his conservation and charity work, saying that he was a dedicated and respected heir to the throne and a wonderful father.
Speaking at the Black Tie dinner in her son's honour, the Queen said, “It is a privilege for any mother to be able to propose a toast to her son on his 70th birthday.
It means that you have lived long enough to see your child grow up.

The Queen went on to say that over his 70 years, she and Philip had seen Charles become a champion of conservation and the arts, a great charitable leader, a dedicated and respected heir to the throne to a stand comparison with any in history, and a wonderful father.
She wished her son a happy birthday, adding that he was a Duchy Original.
“So this toast is to wish a happy birthday to my son, in every respect a Duchy Original.
To you Charles.
To the Prince of Wales.”
Charles was spotted arriving at his birthday bash earlier last night with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
Charles's sons and their wives were close behind, with Prince William attending the evening event with Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
And Harry drove pregnant Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, to the glitzy party.
Clarence House released a stunning picture of Charles and Camilla taken ahead of the due.
Earlier yesterday, Charles stepped out for a tea party at Spencer House, which was attended by a group of 70 inspirational people who also turned 70 this year.
And Prime Minister Theresa May paid tribute to Charles in a speech in the House of Commons on his birthday.
Mrs May said, “Throughout the Prince of Wales' life his commitment to public service has been total.
