Prince Harry WARNS Meghan’s father about speaking to the press – “Only we can help you”

As part of a court case against the publisher of the Mail on Sunday, the Duchess of Sussex has disclosed text messages she and sent to her father before their wedding.

Meghan argues that the tweets were misquoted by Associated Newspapers in attempts to paint the pair in a negative light.

Meghan filed the lawsuit after the Mail on Sunday released a handwritten letter she sent to her father, Thomas Markle.

The paper, she says, selectively edited the letter to view her “negatively.”

The legal document argues that the newspaper team edited messages sent to Mr Markle by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before their wedding on May 19, 2018.

Meghan contacted her father on May 5, 2018, writing, “I've called and texted but haven't heard back from you so hoping you're okay.”

The next day, she messaged her father after learning that photos of him had been staged for a paparazzo photographer, according to legal documents.

“She explains that she had attempted to arrange logistics and supplies for her father discretely and with privacy, with care taken not to feed the press, that she is trying to protect her father from heightened press intrusion and scrutiny and that he should keep a low profile until the wedding,” it says.

Mr Markle reportedly sent Meghan a text message on May 14, 2018, apologizing and stating that he would not be attending the wedding.

It claims that after many calls to Mr Markle went unanswered, sent the following messages to Mr Markle from Meghan's phone about half an hour later:

“Tom, it's Harry and I'm going to call you right now. Please pick up, thank you”

“Tom, Harry again! Really need to speak to u. U do not need to apologize, we understand the circumstances but “going public” will only make the situation worse. If u love Meg and want to make it right please call me as there are two other options which don't involve u having to speak to the media, who incidentally created this whole situation. So please call me so I can explain. Meg and I are not angry, we just need to speak to u. Thanks”

“Oh any speaking to the press WILL backfire, trust me Tom. Only we can help u, as we have been trying from day 1”.

Duchess Meghan wins privacy case against tabloid newspaper

, Duchess of Sussex of the United Kingdom, has won a privacy lawsuit against a tabloid newspaper in the United Kingdom.

, the Duchess of Sussex of the United Kingdom, won the majority of her court fight against a tabloid newspaper on Thursday, after a judge found that publishing excerpts from a private letter she sent to her father was “manifestly excessive and hence unlawful.”

Ms. Meghan, 39, the wife of 's grandson Prince Harry, sued Associated Newspapers after portions of a handwritten letter she sent to her estranged parent, Thomas Markle, were printed in the Mail on Sunday tabloid in August 2018.

Judge Mark Warby found that the papers infringed on her privacy, but that certain questions related to her letter's copyright would have to be addressed at trial.

“The complainant had a fair presumption that the letter's contents would be kept confidential. The papers in the Mail interfered with the reasonable expectation, according to Judge Warby.

Ms. Meghan penned the five-page letter to Mr. Markle after their relationship fell apart in the months leading up to her extravagant wedding to Harry in May 2018, which her father was unable to attend due to sickness and after he confessed to posing for paparazzi photographs.
