Were Harry and Meghan kicked out of Prince Charles’ birthday party?
When a video of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry exiting a garden party quickly only days after their wedding emerged, a royal commentator said they were ordered to leave.
Prince Charles and Camilla were joined by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for a Buckingham Palace garden party to celebrate the Prince of Wales' 70th birthday.
The family seemed content and comfortable as they waved and chatted with well-wishers, but Lady Colin Campbell said the story behind the scenes was very different.
Lady Colin Campbell says Meghan's feud with the royal family began at Prince Charles' 70th birthday garden party in her latest book Meghan and Harry: The Real Story.
According to excerpts from the book leaked online, Meghan informed Harry she was “bored” and decided to abandon the festivities, whilst others said the couple had been “escorted out.”
The author teased that “something happened,” but refused to share the details, instead directing readers to her book for more information.

Campbell told the Daily Star, “I can't repeat it exactly, it's in the book, but what I can say is, something happened at the very first garden party at Buckingham Palace. We were all absolutely gobsmacked and astonished, we all thought this doesn't bode well .”
A video from the garden party sparked debate among royal enthusiasts, who thought Prince Charles had ordered Prince Harry to leave, and many speculated that Meghan's behaviour was to blame for their ejection.
One Twitter user explained the video in 2019, saying, “Remember the garden party held in honor of Charles' 70th? And #themarkles were asked to leave 40 min in because of Meghan's behavior? They were escorted out along with their entourage. M was not happy! ”

Given Campbell's enigmatic suggestion that something happened at the garden party, theories began to circulate, with one fan speculating that Meghan was “bored.”
Others asked whether the newlyweds had more publicity than Charles for his birthday, and several pointed out how Meghan smiled when a bee interrupted her husband during Prince Harry's address. She was caught sticking her tongue out in response to the bee incident, and others speculated that Camilla didn't like the gesture.
“…Some believe they were supposed to leave early. I believe something happened and it was probably due to inappropriate behavior on MM's part such as sticking out her tongue, accepting gifts… someone even mentioned she was making the party all about herself talking about her wedding and general rude behavior. She is known to interrupt and talk over people. So we have a couple theories here .”
“I believe it was because she stuck her tongue out behind Camilla's back and it was caught by press. Charles either saw the whole thing or was informed. Whether or not the tongue was actually in response to Camilla or Charles, its rude and inappropriate, even for a child,” one person explained.
A lip reader debunked the clip by telling Mail Online that a team member informed Harry that he had been “called for.”
“We are going now, We have to leave,” Charles said to Harry.
“You go ahead,” Harry responds, before returning to Meghan.
“We'll go now, see you later,” Charles concludes, to which Harry responds, “Yes, catch up later.”
“Just coming to say goodbye, we will see you later,” Camilla says as she nips over to say her goodbyes.
