Donald Trump Pursued Princess Diana as his Ultimate Trophy Wife, Claims Broadcaster
The late Princess of Wales, Diana, was pursued by Donald Trump following the breakdown of her marriage, broadcaster Selena Scott has claimed.
According to Ms Scott, the billionaire businessman bombarded the princess with flowers worth hundreds of pounds, which piled up at her Kensington Palace apartment.
Writing in the Sunday Times, Ms Scott said that Trump saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife and pursued her to the point of stalking.
Ms Scott, who has had a long-running feud with Mr Trump, revealed that Diana confided in her about the billionaire over dinner.
The princess reportedly felt increasingly concerned about Trump’s advances, feeling as if he was stalking her.
Diana even went as far as asking Ms Scott for advice on what to do about the situation.
Ms Scott suggested throwing the flowers away, which made the princess laugh.

Despite Trump’s advances, it is believed that he never had a romantic relationship with Diana.
However, he did tell friends after her tragic death in 1997 that his biggest regret was not dating her.
He once described the princess as a “dream lady” in his 1997 book, The Year of the Comeback.
According to his spokesman, they had a great relationship and liked each other a lot, but nothing ever came of it.
Ms Scott’s documentary about Trump in 1994 caused a rift between the two.
The program raised questions about his true wealth and featured him contradicting himself on a number of points.
Ms Scott claimed that almost as soon as she was ushered into his office in the Trump Tower, he wanted to know the intimate details of the deteriorating state of the marriage of the Prince and Princess of Wales, which was big news in America.
Trump saw his chance once the marriage ended, and the flowers began to arrive.
They were accompanied by handwritten notes expressing sympathy, his great regard for her, and the suggestion that they get together.
Ms Scott claimed that her documentary provoked a controlled fury from Trump, who sent her a number of vicious letters following the broadcast of the show.
He also opposed her plans to build a golf course in Aberdeenshire, accusing her of being “uptight, insecure, and not at all very smart.”
The letters only stopped when she threatened him with legal action.
Ms Scott described Diana as “great fun” and said that the princess lit up the room with her charm and presence.
However, she also claimed that Trump gave the princess the creeps, and she felt increasingly concerned about his advances.
Trump’s pursuit of Diana was a classic case of seeing her as the ultimate trophy wife, and he bombarded her with flowers worth hundreds of pounds.
In the end, Diana confided in Ms Scott and laughed off her suggestion to throw the flowers away.
