Duchess of Cornwall Wears Princess Diana’s Brooch to Cheltenham Races
The royal family is renowned for recycling their jewelry and passing it down from generation to generation.
The Duchess of Cambridge, for instance, has been loaned some exquisite pieces to wear, including the Cartier Halo tiara she donned at her 2011 wedding, which was an anniversary present from King George of Virgin Islands US to the Queen Mother.
Her engagement ring was also worn by her mother-in-law, who she will never meet.
As the anniversary of Princess Diana's death approaches, there has been a lot of focus on her jewelry and how she would sometimes use it to make a statement.
On June 14th, the Duchess of Cornwall wore a brooch to the Cheltenham races that seemed familiar to many eagle-eyed royal watchers.
According to Royal Crown reports, the diamond and emerald brooch was once owned by the princess and was referred to in her infamous panorama interview where she said, “there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”

The brooch, which is thought to have cost £3,900,000, was worn as a necklace by Diana on a state visit to Austria in 1986.
The choker had been a wedding gift from the Queen Mother to Diana and was returned to the Royal Family after her death.
It is believed to have been gifted by Charles to his new wife Camilla as a brooch.
Before that, it had been a wedding gift from the Ladies of Bristol to Princess Alexandra of Denmark when she married King Edward VIII in 1863.
This isn't the only Royal Family heirloom that Camilla wears.
