Prince William Snubs Prince Harry at Princess Diana Statue Unveiling

did not invite his brother, , to a party held in honour of their late mother, , according to royal author Katie Nicholl.

The event was held after the unveiling of a statue of the Princess of Wales at Kensington Palace on her 68th birthday in July 2021.

The brothers, who have been at odds for several years, came together to unveil the statue in what was seen as a moment of reconciliation.

However, the absence of at the party held later that year raised eyebrows.

While Prince Harry was criticised for missing the event, Nicholl has now suggested that it was who did not invite his younger brother.

In an interview, she said, “when William had a party over here last year to thank those that had been involved with the Diana statue, he didn't actually invite Harry to that.

He didn't ask him to come back over from the States for it, so I think that's some indication as to how tense and how difficult that relationship is.”

Nicholl also revealed that Prince Harry suggested to his father, , that they may need a mediator to help repair the damaged relationship with his brother.

While wants to mend the relationship with his second son, Nicholl believes that the bridge between Prince William and Prince Harry is far more difficult to rebuild.

“I would imagine it's more to do with his brother,” she said.

“I would imagine that idea of wanting a mediator is probably more to do with him and William.

His relationship, really, is at a bit of a crossroads.

We have been told for many months now that they're not close at the moment.

It has been very, very difficult.”

The rift between the two brothers reportedly began when Prince Harry and his wife, , gave an explosive interview to in March 2021.

In the interview, they made several damaging claims about the royal family, including allegations of racism and lack of support for Meghan's mental health.

Since then, their relationship has been strained, with Prince William said to be particularly critical of his brother's behaviour.

The Duke of Cambridge was reportedly dismayed by allegations of bullying of royal staff and claims of racism, which led to a rift between the two brothers.

According to Richard Kaye, a royal correspondent, the breach between them is an open wound that has still not remotely begun to heal.

“He doesn't like talking about Harry,” says a friend of the Duke.

“He says it gives him a headache.”

Prince William is also said to be uneasy about Prince Harry's book deal, fearing that both he and his wife, Kate, will be in the crosshairs.

While he understands the need for reconciliation, he worries about his father being ambushed by Prince Harry.
