Princess Beatrice Appointed Councillor of State Following Queen Elizabeth II’s Passing

The passing of II at the age of 96 has resulted in significant changes for the Royal Family, including new titles and roles.

King Charles III has ascended to the throne, and and Catherine, Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge, have been granted the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales, while is now Queen Consort.

Princess Beatrice, the eldest daughter of and Sarah, Duchess of York, has also seen a significant change in her role and responsibilities.

She has been appointed as a Councillor of State, meaning she is one of only four people who can act on behalf of and fill in for King Charles III when instructed to do so.

As a Councillor of State, Beatrice will participate in privy council meetings, sign documents, and receive the credentials of new ambassadors.

Before the Queen's death, the required four Councillors of State were her two sons, Prince Charles and , and Charles' two sons, and .

However, with Charles now the reigning monarch, a new Councillor of State was needed.

Beatrice was chosen because she is the highest candidate in the line of succession who is over the age of 21 years old.

Currently, she is ninth in line to inherit the throne.

Despite not being in the line of succession, , Queen Consort, is also able to fill in for her husband if instructed to do so.

Princess Anne, the Queen's only daughter, has also been given a new title.

The title Princess Royal is typically bestowed upon the monarch's eldest daughter.

Although King Charles does not have any daughters, the title will remain with Princess Anne until she dies.

It is not a hereditary title, and , the second child of the new Duke of Cornwall, will not automatically receive it upon Anne's death.

William has the power to decide if and when to bestow the Princess Royal title onto his daughter, which may not happen immediately.

Beatrice's husband, Italian Count Edoma Pelli Mozzi, recently shared an unseen image of the Queen and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, along with an emotional Instagram post about the loss of Her Majesty.

He wrote, “Incredibly hard to process the last 24 hours.

What an incredible woman and extraordinary mark she's left on the entire world.

She was the rock on which modern Britain was built.

Feeling very lucky that our little ones got to spend wonderful time with her this summer.

Rest in peace Your Majesty.

We will miss you so much.

Princess Anne is currently accompanying her late mother as the coffin travels from Balmoral to Edinburgh.

She made it to her mother's bedside before the Queen passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon.

As the Queen's only daughter, Anne is expected to play a central role in the funeral proceedings in the coming days.

She will also accompany the coffin on the flight from Edinburgh to London on Tuesday.

The Royal Family is going through a difficult time, but they are coming together to support one another and honor the legacy of II.

Princess Beatrice's appointment as Councillor of State is a significant responsibility, but she is ready to take on the challenge and serve her country in this new role.

The Princess Royal title will remain with Princess Anne until her death, and it will be up to William to decide if and when to bestow it upon his daughter.

The Royal Family remains in the thoughts of many during this sad time.
