Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s Great-Grandchildren Pay Tribute to Duke Ahead of Funeral

The Royal Family has released two never-before-seen photographs of the Queen and Prince Philip with some of their great-grandchildren, as a tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh ahead of his farewell service on Saturday.

The first photo was taken by the Duchess of Cambridge at Balmoral in 2018, and shows the Queen and Prince Philip surrounded by seven of their great-grandchildren.

The Queen is seen cuddling , while sits next to her holding her baby brother's hand.

Isla Phillips, the second daughter of Peter and Autumn Phillips, stands next to the Duke of Edinburgh and holds her new cousin, Lena Tindall.

Mia Tindall stands to her side, while Savannah Phillips, the first of the Queen and Prince Philip's great-grandchildren, is behind the pair.

The photo was taken before the births of the Queen and Prince Philip's three other great-grandchildren.

Mountbatten-Windsor, son of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was born the following year in 2019.

August Brooksbank, son of and Jack Brooksbank, was born in February 2021, while Zara and Mike Tindall's third child, Lucas, arrived in March this year.

The second photograph was taken in 2015 at Balmoral during the annual Royal Summer Holidays.

It shows the Duke of Cambridge holding the hand of , who was two at the time the photo was taken.

The Duchess of Cambridge holds , who appears to be sharing a cheeky smile with the Queen, while Prince Philip focuses on the camera.

The Royal Family shared these photos along with members of the family, remembering the Duke of Edinburgh as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

The Duchess of Cambridge, one of the world's most photographed people, has gone behind the lens and released her own pictures before.

She was named as the new patron of the Royal Photographic Society earlier this year, following her flourishing passion in photography.

The Duchess began the tradition in 2015 when she took the first official portraits of Princess Charlotte, rather than hiring a photographer.

On Monday, the Duke and Duchess also shared a never-before-seen photograph of his then-toddler son Prince George sitting next to his great-grandfather in Norfolk, to pay tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh.

The sweet photo taken by the Duchess in 2015 shows the Duke of Edinburgh and astute 90-year-old chariot driver smiling in front of the camera while his grandson George looks aside.
