Queen Elizabeth II Narrowly Escapes Car Crash on Her 96th Birthday

On her 96th birthday, II had a close encounter with danger.

It has been revealed that the Queen was almost involved in a car crash while seated in the front passenger seat of her black Range Rover.

The incident occurred when her driver had to hit the brakes as they pulled out of her estate and onto a country road.

A white Nissan Juke suddenly appeared, causing the driver to swerve and make an abrupt stop to avoid a collision.

According to reports by The Express, the Queen's car ended up on a grass verge while the other vehicle had to swerve to avoid a collision.

Fortunately, the other car was only running at 30 miles per hour.

A passerby commented that the British monarch was lucky because vehicles in that area usually travel much faster.

The Range Rover should have stopped at the junction to let the car pass, but the bystander said, “We sometimes get cars going much faster along that road, so the Queen was very lucky.”

A photo shared online showed the Queen and the driver looking stunned.

Another picture shows the white Nissan Juke that nearly collided with the Queen's car.

The near-miss happened on the Queen's 96th birthday, and she is believed to be residing at Sandringham's Wood Farm cottage, which Prince Philip used after retiring from public life.

She flew there via helicopter on Wednesday.

To mark her birthday, Buckingham Palace released a new image of the Queen indulging in her passion for equine activities.

In the photo, she stands alongside two of her prized fowl ponies, Bybeck Nightingale and Bybeck Katie, who will be participating in this year's Royal Windsor Horse Show.

The photograph was taken last month by Henry Dalow, who was commissioned to take an official portrait of her to mark her 90th birthday.

The snap was taken on the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the Queen has conducted a number of her duties recently, including virtual audiences.

It is also where the monarch and her late husband isolated for most of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Queen has been struggling with health issues in recent weeks and months.

She has admitted to suffering from mobility problems and has had to pull out of several events.

Palace insiders told The Telegraph this week that the Queen's attendance at Jubilee weekend celebrations is not guaranteed.

A source told the paper, “…the assumption must now be that the Queen will not be present at events.
