Prince Charles ‘very upset’ with Prince Harry’s ‘cut-off’ remark because he continued to support them financially

After the Duke of Sussex made serious comments about his bond with his father during a historic interview with Oprah, a source close to revealed the Prince of Wales's feelings. When asked about , the source said: “He's very upset and cut up … but he's keeping his private life private and getting on with the job.

“It was a surprise to hear he'd been cut off, given the bank statements.”

The source went on to say that after Meghan and Harry formally stood down as full-time working royals last March, Prince Charles proceeded to provide them with private financial assistance “until they found their feet,” according to The Sunday Times.

Another source weighed in on 's assertion that his family had cut him off financially in early 2020.

This insider, a Prince of Wales acquaintance, said: “Harry said that his father had ‘cut him off' financially. What f**king hypocrisy.”

“When Harry and Meghan left last year, they wanted to become ‘financially independent'.”

As per Prince Harry's recollection, the royal family cut him off financially in 2020, and he has since relied on the money he inherited from his mother, .

Harry told that he ceased getting financial assistance “in the first quarter of 2020” in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first sit-down interview since stepping down as senior royals in January 2020.

He said of the couple's relocation to the United States, “I have what my mum left me and without that, we wouldn't have been able to do this.”

He went on to say, “It's like she saw it coming and she's been with us through this whole process,” adding, “Netflix and Spotify were never part of the plan.”

According to different accounts, the inheritance started out at about $8.9 million and compounded with savings and interest on the principal.

At the age of 25, Harry and his brother, William, started collecting their inheritances, with the full sum coming by the age of 30, when the ginger-haired prince got about $13 million.
