Why Royal Family won’t sue Netflix for ‘The Crown’

Russell Myers, a royal columnist, and Kevin O'Sullivan, a TalkRadio host, both concluded that Netflix is benefiting from the attention generated by the scandal around their Royal Family drama The Crown.

Mr. O'Sullivan called Netflix cowards on Talkradio, claiming the entertainment company is mindful the Royal Family is reluctant to react with legal action. According to him, the royals are obliged by protocol not to partake in serious critique or ridicule.

He observed that, unlike some families who could sue for inaccurate portrayals, they were frequently expected to “shut up and get on with it.”

Mr O'Sullivan said that peopleare taking it seriously yet it isn't a documentary.

“People are saying, ‘does the writer Peter Morgan know that he has got these conversations right?'

“Well, of course, he doesn't, he wasn't there when they were happening.”

However, it seems that we must point out that this is a work of fiction.

The radio host disclosed what irritated him the most about Netflix's deceptive thriller.

This production, I believe, is very cowardly, since you could only do this to a living family like the Royal Family.

Any family in their right mind would sue Netflix for The Crown if they were in the real world.

However, the Royal Family cannot or would not do so because of the practice never complaining.

It's incredible that Peter Morgan and the authors of The Crown have gotten away with it.

Maybe there is some sort of  happy medium here, and it should come with this health warning.

What Royal Family members think about the  show

is another member of the royal family who is said to be dissatisfied with the show. According to alleged friends who talked to The Daily Mail, “The Duke of Cambridge is none too pleased with it. He feels that both his parents are being exploited and being presented in a false, simplistic way to make money.”

While and Diana's youngest child is not expected to watch, he has seen the trailers for the new season. “Harry has seen the trailers for series four but I can't see him watching it,” a source told Vanity Fair's Katie Nicholl. “The feeling is that the latest series would actually be quite sad for them [William and Harrry] to watch,” she writes, quoting another insider. And, to be honest, hurts our hearts a little (we despise the thought of them being upset!).

The Queen

“The Queen has no desire to watch herself in a fictitious TV program,” an insider source wrote, according to Katie Nichol.

Prince Charles

The future king is said to be somewhat irritated by his appearance on the screen… oh no. The 72-year-old's friends also described the portrayal of him as “trolling on a Hollywood budget,” according to Emily Andrews, Royal Editor of the Mail on Sunday, who also claims that the palace is not satisfied with the situation.

Princess Anne

The possibility that the Queen's only daughter, a professional showjumper, will be watching has been quashed, according to a study from Katie Nicholl, a royal reporter, who claimed a source assured her the princess “has no time for such nonsense.”
