Prince Harry Offered to Take on Prince William’s Future Role as King, Royal Commentator Says
Prince Harry has offered to take on the role of king for his older brother, Prince William, according to a royal commentator.
This news comes as the Duke of Sussex prepares to return to the UK for the first time since the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
The young Duke of Sussex will be accompanied by his wife, Meghan Markle, during their trip to London and Manchester.
They will also travel to Germany for a special Invictus Games event.
It is unknown whether the couple will reunite with any members of the royal family, although reports suggest that they have no plans to see Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are preparing to move out of their London home in Kensington Palace and relocate to Adelaide Cottage, a four-bedroom property on the Windsor estate.

This move will position them closer to the Queen, who resides in Windsor Castle, and allow them to take on more responsibilities within the firm.
Both Kate and William are expected to take on new roles in the near future.
The Duke is likely to become the next Prince of Wales, taking the title from his father, Prince Charles, once he becomes King.
The Duchess, on the other hand, has been tipped to take on the title of Princess of Wales, making her the first to use the style since Diana, Princess of Wales.
William's future within the royal family has been set in stone since his birth, but that does not mean that the Prince was always happy about the path he was destined to take.
In contrast, Prince Harry was eagerly waiting in the wings to take on the responsibility.
Kinsey Schofield, the founder of LA-based royal site Tiddyfordaily.com, told Express.co.uk that Harry offered to take on the top job for his brother.
She said, “Diana never wanted Harry to feel like he was less than.
She called him Good King Harry for that reason.
And when they were growing up, William would scoff at the idea of being king, but Prince Harry would say, ‘I'll do it for you.
I'll be king.'
Diana wanted him to feel like he was worthy of that.
She loved that fire in Prince Harry.
She loved that he was ambitious enough and so eager to take on such a role.”
James Patterson, a well-respected author whose most recent book explores Princess Diana's role as a mother, backed up Ms. Schofield's claim as he described how Harry earned his nickname “Good King Harry.”
He told Fox News Digital last week, “William was a handful who did not like being told how to behave.
William allegedly once responded, ‘I don't want to be king.'
When Harry quipped, ‘Well, I'll do the job instead of you then,' the nickname was born.”
Despite his eagerness, Harry's offer was not taken up, and William is set to carry out his destiny as a future monarch.
While William has dedicated himself to a life of duty, Harry is no longer a working member of the royal family.
In early 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would be stepping down from their senior roles within the firm and moving to the US.
In other news, Prince Harry's upcoming memoir could lead Queen Elizabeth to pay the highest price, according to royal expert Daniela Elza.
In her column for news.com.au, Elza said that the Duke of Sussex has quite the axe to grind, pointing out there are new clues suggesting his book could be even more of a Buckingham Palace-rattling doozy than previously thought.
The expert weighed in on Tom Bower's recent claims that the prince would settle his scores with his family and friends in his memoir.
Elza expressed, “If you take Bower and Kay's claims together, then it is looking increasingly like the seemingly perma-disgruntled prince will be pulling no punches on the page when it comes to his family and the monarchy.”
