Prince William Tries to Convince Zara Tindall to Step Up in the Royal Duties

, the second in line to the throne, is reportedly urging Zara Tindall, the daughter of the Princess Royal, to take on more responsibilities within the royal family.

According to an insider, the Duke understands that the pool of senior royals is shrinking and he will need other family members to carry out public engagements in the future.

The source revealed to New Idea, an Australian weekly magazine, that William is aware his own father has three siblings, two of which are still actively involved in public engagements.

However, with no longer a senior royal, William needs to find other family members to help shoulder the load.

The insider added that William believes Zara could be just the person to help solve his “staffing” problem in the years to come.

The Duke is acutely aware of the importance of having a strong team of senior royals to represent the monarchy and support various charities and causes.

Princess Anne, Zara's mother, decided not to give her children royal titles, despite the Queen offering to make an exception.

This decision was made to allow them to lead more normal lives outside of the royal spotlight.

As a result, Zara is currently 19th in line to the throne, and will soon become 20th after the birth of Meghan and Harry's second child, due this summer.

It is not yet clear whether Zara will accept the offer to take on more royal duties.
