Queen Elizabeth Hosts State Dinner at Buckingham Palace

The Queen hosted a state dinner at Buckingham Palace yesterday evening, with several royal women in attendance.

The event was part of the ongoing Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting, which is being held in London this week.

The dress code for the banquet was black tie and traditional dress, which meant that the jewellery, especially the tiaras, did not disappoint.

The Queen herself wore her Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara to the event, while , Duchess of Cornwall, was seen in the Grenville tiara, and Princess Anne wore the Festoon tiara.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex, chose a striking aquamarine necklace tiara for the occasion.

In her speech, the Queen welcomed her guests to the United Kingdom and expressed her delight at being able to host the occasion as head of the Commonwealth.

”This dinner is always an opportunity for us to come together, as friends, and I am grateful that so many of you are here with us this time,” she said.

The President of Ghana also spoke at the event, suggesting that the Queen would be winding down her duties as leader of the Commonwealth, making her backing up as her successor all the more significant.

”We're led to understand that she'll be winding down her duties as head of the Commonwealth.

This toast thus takes on an added significance, for it falls upon me to express the depth of our collective regret that she will no longer automatically be present at proceedings,” he said.

Notably absent from the event was , who is currently engaged in her own official duties ahead of her wedding to next month.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were also not in attendance, leading to speculation that they may have been saving their first tiara moment for their upcoming weddings.

Overall, the event was a stunning display of royal fashion and tradition, with the Queen once again proving to be a gracious host and leader of the Commonwealth.
