Queen Elizabeth II Celebrated on International Women’s Day 2022

and Catherine, along with and , Duchess of Cornwall, paid tribute to II on International Women's Day 2022.

The couple shared a series of touching images from the Queen's reign on their Instagram accounts, celebrating Her Majesty and her historic 70 years of service in her Platinum Jubilee year.

They thanked her for inspiring a nation and addressed the Queen as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and head of state.

The message included a series of eight images from different decades of her reign, including one of the Queen and Prince Philip surrounded by their great-grandchildren.

The family photograph, taken at Balmoral Castle in 2018 by Catherine, shows the Queen and Prince Philip sitting alongside seven of their great-grandchildren, with the relaxed monarch holding a then baby in her arms.

Another image sees the Queen in one of her happiest places, visiting the Chelsea Flower Show alongside Catherine and William in May 2019.

The Queen wore a stylish Urdum coat in lime green for her annual visit to the Royal Horticultural Society's London show.

There's also a photo of Her Majesty greeting well-wishers during her Silver Jubilee in 1997 and one taken earlier this year at Windsor Castle to mark the beginning of the Platinum Jubilee year.

While , , , and Catherine all feature in the social media montage, the image that will resonate for many is the photo of the Queen and the late Prince Philip as doting and proud great-grandparents.

Royal fans rushed to the comments section of the heartfelt post to pay their respects to the monarch.

One person wrote, “Thank you for your dedication and service,” while someone else said, “What an amazing woman!

Happy International Women's Day to you, dear Queen.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also paid tribute to a series of other inspiring women to mark International Women's Day and gave them a shoutout on their Instagram story.

Last month, the Queen celebrated the 70th anniversary of ascending to the throne following the death of her father George VI.

In early June, a four-day bank holiday extravaganza of celebrations of the Queen's long reign is planned.

The first day of the long weekend is on Thursday, June 2, which will see Trooping the Colour held in full for the first time since the pandemic.

On Friday, June 3rd, a service of thanksgiving for the Queen's reign will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral.

Then, on Saturday, the Queen will be joined by other members of the Royal Family at the Derby at Epsom Downs.

There will also be a Platinum Party at Buckingham Palace, and members of the public are invited to join some of the world's biggest music stars to celebrate.

On Sunday, people across the UK will be invited to sit down together to take part in the Big Jubilee Lunch, with street parties held across the UK.

The Platinum Jubilee Pageant will feature 5,000 people from the UK and the Commonwealth performing around the area of Buckingham Palace.

Queen Elizabeth II has dedicated her life to the service of the Commonwealth and its people, and her extraordinary reign has been longer than any other monarch in British history.

She continues to inspire a nation, and her Platinum Jubilee year is a testament to her unwavering commitment to duty and service.
