“I am not trapped” – Prince William dismisses Harry’s argument that he was ‘trapped’ in the Royal family as “way off the mark.”

A source close to the royal family has dismissed 's argument that his brother, , is “trapped” within the British monarchy as “far off the mark.”

 

After alleging that both his brother and aunt, , were prisoners in the gilded cage of royal life, the Duke of Sussex sparked outrage.

However, a source close to both William and Harry at Buckingham Palace has refuted the allegations made in Harry's explosive interview with .

According to the Sunday Times, William has “accepted” his position and “the course that has been laid out for him.”

“In terms of role and service, he is very much his grandmother's grandson,” the source said.

The remarks contrast strongly with those made by Harry during the turbulent Oprah interview.

“I myself was trapped,” the Duke of Sussex told the veteran US chat show host. There was no way out for me. I was stuck, but I didn't realize it.”

When pressed for explanation, Harry said, “Trapped inside the structure, like the rest of my family.”

“My father and brother are imprisoned. They are not allowed to leave.”

According to a story in the Sunday Times, the Duke of Cambridge was enraged with Harry and Meghan for disobeying the Queen's order that they refrain from using the term “royal” in any potential business projects.

In response to the Queen's ban, the couple posted a message on their SussexRoyal website in March 2019 saying, “The Monarchy has no authority… over the usage of the term “royal” in foreign contexts.”

According to a source close to the couple, Prince William considered the whole scenario “disrespectful” to the Queen and chastised them for “blindsiding” the monarch with the comment posted online.

“That was it for William; he thought they'd insulted and disrespected the Queen in such a way,” the source said.
