Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, are reportedly planning a big move to Windsor as soon as this summer, in an effort to be closer to Queen Elizabeth following her recent health issues.

The couple, who have previously split their time between Norfolk and Kensington Palace, have been searching for a new home in Windsor, with Frogmore House, Adelaide Cottage, and 's Royal Lodge among the potential options.

However, it seems that the Duke of York is unwilling to budge from his residence, leaving the Cambridges to consider other options.

The reports of the Cambridges moving to Windsor come after escorted the Queen to Prince Philip's memorial service last week.

According to a source, the need to move to Windsor is growing more and more urgent, as Andrew spends a lot of time with the Queen and has been a valuable source of support for her during the Covid lockdown.

Despite being banished from the royal family earlier this year, there are fears that Andrew is using his closeness to the Queen as a springboard back into public life.

In addition to house hunting, Catherine and William are also considering schools in the Windsor, Buckinghamshire, and Surrey areas.

They have reportedly looked around Lambrook School in Ascot, where parents have said will start soon.

There are also claims that the couple want George and Charlotte to attend the same school, which could open up the possibility of Marlborough College in Wiltshire, where Catherine was head girl.

It's worth noting that William and Catherine were among the royals calling for Andrew's military titles and royal patronages to be stripped, which the Queen put into effect earlier this year.

However, Andrew has continued to ruffle feathers since the settlement, especially after he showed up to escort the Queen to Prince Philip's memorial service last month.

Royal expert Natalie Oliveri previously stated that Andrew attending the service with his mother was not a good look for the royals and that continuing to accompany her to events will certainly leave a lot of people angry.

Despite this, royal biographer Robert Jobson came to the mother and son's defense and clarified that it was the Queen who wanted her second son to be her escort.

“The Queen made her decision for her own reasons,” he tweeted.

“She was not bullied into it by Andrew.

She asked him to accompany her, and if the Queen asks you to do something, it is not a request.

The vitriol against Her Majesty is awful.

I am not backing Andrew, but it was the Queen's call.”

While the Cambridges' move to Windsor may have been spurred on by the Queen's health concerns, it's also possible that they are looking to distance themselves from the ongoing controversy surrounding Prince Andrew.

The Duke of York has faced intense scrutiny over his connections to convicted s** offender Jeffrey Epstein, with many calling for him to cooperate with US authorities investigating the case.

Despite denying any wrongdoing, Andrew's reputation has taken a major hit in recent years, and it seems that even his own family members are keen to keep their distance.

It remains to be seen where exactly the Cambridges will end up settling in Windsor, but it's clear that they are eager to make the move as soon as possible.

With schools to consider and a new home to find, there's plenty of work to be done before they can fully relocate.

However, given their status as two of the most high-profile members of the royal family, it's likely that they will be able to find a suitable property in no time.

In conclusion, it seems that the Cambridges are making a big move to Windsor in an effort to be closer to the Queen following her recent health issues.
